Yay! I'll have a thank-you piece ready, and it will be texty. I think text art is kinda cool now.

I seriously do have a few things to submit, I just need to find them/scan them in. Most of my effort as of late has been expended toward my flickr, which contains my not-really-artistic photos.

Weird dream, 2008.02.09

It all started when I was in a friend's house and her little sister (she doesn't have one IRL) was hiding in different rooms to avoid going to school. My friend and I were trying to find her - we looked in the screened in porch, the living room, the TV room... Until we finally found her in the laundry room.

At school, we were getting our gym class equipment out of the outdoor shed since the weather was pretty good. Then it turned awful (80km/h winds, blowing snow) so the teacher told us to drop everything and head inside to the Commons. (cafeteria area)

Apparently some kind of "ambience specialist" had attacked the Commons and dropped the light level a few orders of magnitude by installing dark brick paneling and 20-watt shaded bulbs hanging from the ceiling. They also removed the wall between the cafeteria seating and the kitchens area, and hired a Chinese kitchen staff and a Buddhist monk cashier. (The monk didn't have a vow of silence, but he did have a shaved head and saffron robes.) And the kitchen staff weren't even cooking Chinese, they were cooking pizza.

Over pizza, in this weird alternative-world Commons, I learned a lot about my friend, such as that her mom was very active in the community, and she wants to continue her mom's spirit of volunteerism. She also had a pretty helix piercing.

And then dad woke me up since we had to go to the Breakfast Program.

The weirdest thing about this dream was that I had iridescent pink nail polish on throughout, and nobody even noticed.

Rinaldo Lapuz

He was the last guy to audition for American Idol tonight; he had on a puffy feathery bird suit. 44, Filipino, Don't remember where he was from. But he was actually pretty cool. He sang his own composition, "We're Brothers Forever", which was actually kinda catchy. Lapuz' audition even had Randy, Paula, and Simon (and even Ryan Seacrest) on the floor dancing with him.

What was kind of cool about him was that he admired Simon Cowell for giving everyone an opportunity. He was a really good sport, not like that Janis Joplin-esque chick yesterday with the excessive eye makeup. He almost reminds me of William Hung in a way, being that friendly and good-spirited, as well as Asian.

Maybe I just think he's cool because he's a Filipino.
